The Kairos Factory (ULC)

The damned thing in the cave that was so dreaded has become the center.

Joseph Campbell

While the aspen flesh held unwhispered mysteries awaiting the hushing of the tongues of men and

omens were left crackling between the foaming ocean shore and grey witcheries of riptides,

the black horns of God compelled sandalled pilgrims to the secret churchyards of disinterred martyrs:

Ashes on mantles,

antlers and candles,

serpents in alders,

brazen cauldrons,

twilight tarantelles,

glimpses of hell.

But:

The milken sky’s grace offered topaz laced legs to the corners of my eyes, demolishing

all the facts of the world;

let us distill the spirits between the stars –

Twin sphinxes guard the blue braided with torsion

The first, a labyrinth of breathing nerves, offers peace

The second, crucified in a crouch, offers…

-Sibilant Stars,

Fields like Songs,

Maidens and Muses,

Glass Cataracts,

Dawning Visions,

Slanting Heaven.

“Such a way of thinking obscures the essential inseparability of consciousness and its objects, and can lead to the error of conceiving the mind’s epistemological constituting of experiential objects on the model of some kind of actual generation or production of one object by another.
